RIP John Humphrey

Posted by: Amanda E. Perrine, MSLIS   in 2011

A couple weeks ago I took the German Genealogy course at GRIP with John Humphrey. He was an amazing teacher, very kind and I learned a lot from him. Today I have learned of his passing via the GRIP page on Facebook. Rest in peace, John.

(Further information will be provided on the IGHR website on Wednesday. I will update with a link).

I feel so lucky to have been in his class and am totally blown away by this news. He was a patient and erudite teacher. We have been blessed for knowing him and empty for not being able to see and hear him again.

So sad–even though I wasn’t in class with you, I used knowledge as a starting point for some fascinating research and (I hope) an interesting blog post.
